Creation Technologies: Lean Smart Manufacturing Unlocks the Global Market

By Shi Lianyin

Step into Creation Technologies Changzhou , and you will find no labor-intensive operations typical of traditional manufacturing—instead, there are well-organized automated production lines and lean, seamless material flow.

As a US-invested enterprise rooted in Wujin National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone for more than 20 years, they are reaping the rewards of long-term internal capabilities with a strong start to 2026: the first batch of orders has been shipped to leading medical and industrial customers in North America, Europe and China, and the full-year performance is expected to surpass the budget by 15%, showing a robust growth momentum.

In the finished product assembly unit, a series of low-cost automated assembly lines integrated with lean concepts are operating at high efficiency. Cindy Liu, Director of Continuous Improvement, pointed to the moving material trolleys and explained: "We have set a fixed quantity of semi-finished products for each process; once employees finish the specified quantity, the trolleys automatically move to the next workstation." More ingeniously, a signal light call system is installed between the final assembly and material preparation units—when the final assembly process needs parts, staff only need to press a button, and materials are promptly delivered via the material distribution system and AGV trolley dispatch instructions.

The concept of lean pull production is implemented in every detail: raw materials are accurately delivered by AGVs; assembly lines are designed with lean principles to ensure line balance and takt production; assembly stations are equipped with gravity or slide rail-based low-cost automated designs, where full material bins slide down automatically and empty ones are recycled simultaneously. This reduces employees' walking and bending movements, maximizing the ease of material access for assembly staff and the overall assembly output. Cindy Liu said, "After two rounds of continuous improvement, this production line has seen its daily capacity rise from an initial 175 units to 500 units, and the assembly cycle shortened from 24 hours to 2 hours." There is still space for further improvement driven by growing order volumes.

The results of lean management are not limited to the design of a single assembly line. Relying on intelligent and digital upgrading, Creation Technologies Changzhou has achieved a 25% overall efficiency improvement, with an average SMT cycle of only 1.1 days and an average assembly cycle of 3.5 days. This has drastically shortened delivery lead times and earned the company the title of Changzhou Intelligent Manufacturing Workshop.

Sean Hu, Supply Chain & Program Director, stated: "We have resumed full production with sufficient capacity, and an additional 5,000 square meters of space is ready for expansion to fully meet the rapid growth in orders." With years of expertise in PCB SMT processing, Creation Technologies Changzhou has continuously enhanced its electronic manufacturing and assembly capabilities, building a profound technical foundation. In 2026, the company is focusing on the medical and high-end industrial sectors. In addition to its existing high-precision motor control systems, drive systems and other industrial products that are steadily sold to customers in North America, Europe, Australia and China, Creation Technologies Changzhou has actively developed PCBA and system integration solutions for advanced medical devices such as high-end surgical robots and endoscope imaging systems since obtaining the Medical Device Manufacturing License in August 2025.

"Leveraging our well-established new product introduction process, the global procurement scale and bargaining power of Creation Technologies, and our high-quality manufacturing capabilities, we can provide customers with global sourcing and Changzhou-based assembly services, delivering competitive manufacturing solutions that are faster, better and more cost-effective. Customers can focus on their core strengths in product R&D and sales, while we take full responsibility for production and delivery."

Sean Hu noted that these high-value-added products have become a new growth driver this year. "Our core strengths lie in advanced equipment capabilities, a bilingual technical team, strong global procurement resources, a comprehensive intelligent software ecosystem and stringent technical standards. We are well positioned to meet the quality requirements of international high-end OEMs and provide global manufacturing support for Chinese enterprises going global. Our branches in the US, Canada and Mexico can all offer overseas manufacturing services to Chinese companies." He revealed that in 2026, Creation will focus on two-way empowerment: enabling foreign-invested enterprises to achieve localized delivery in China, while supporting Chinese enterprises to expand overseas through Creation's global layout. On the other hand, Creation Technologies Changzhou will continue to deepen lean culture and smart manufacturing upgrading, build differentiated core competitiveness based on over 20 years of manufacturing experience, and unlock broader opportunities in the Chinese domestic market through lean smart manufacturing.
